Overcharging Line Rental

<p>In January 2016, my parents signed up with Telkom and activated an ADSL line. I have just found out my parents have been charged R488 a month!!!! We have never signed up for an Internet connection and made that clear from the beginning as our service provider is Afrihost. On further research with peers and online I discovered the rate for line rental should not be more than R180 per month for an ADSL line. To make things worse, my mother phoned Telkom to enquire about the price only to be told that this is the rate and basically to ****** off. This is completely unacceptable and a clear abuse of monopolistic power. </p>
