Overcharged, and Telkom won't fix it!!!
In the past, I have used Telkom's ADSL line rental, with a 2 Mbps line. I do not use Telkom as a service provider for data. Between 5 June and 14 July 2017, I sent numerous emails requesting that my line speed by upped to 4Mbps. Eventually on 25 July 2017, Telkom comp**** with this request, and I then realised that there was no improvement in my internet performance from this change, so on 27 July 2017 I requested Telkom to downgrade the line back to 2Mbps. There was therefore a TWO-DAY period in which my line was 4Mbps.
Telkom added numerous items to my bill from that time onward, including data which I NEVER REQUESTED and did not make use of. They billed it as "uncapped promo". I have had to visit the Telkom store at Baywest numerous times to try and reverse the charges plus the interest that has been charged as a result of these erroneous items, but each time I am told that the error will be fixed and I will be contacted by such-and-such department within seven days.
There were some superficial reversals done on 28 October, but nothing in the region of what I have been overcharged, and I am STILL being overcharged for items that I do not want. I have subsequently cancelled my ADSL line from Telkom, so I should ONLY be being charged for telephone line rental and calls. 30 day notice of ADSL line cancellation was sent to Telkom on 26 October 2017.
I urgently need someone from Telkom to sort this out in its entirety. I do have the names and reference numbers for those I have dealt with and also the emails to back up my claims.
