Over priced free services.

I recently lost my SIM card and had to do a sim swap and since I have never done a telkom SIM swap before I started serching for ways to do it. On their website I quote is says "Relax, rest and do your SIM swap for FREE via our WhatsApp self-service channel instead of running to the store where you'll pay a fee 🏃 It's hassle-free from the comfort of your couch 🛋️ WhatsApp us on *** and follow the prompts." and this was updated on this date 15 Aug 2024 so I tried however it didn't want to work I requested a call back to be told that I have to go in store and yes pay the R100 fee for SIM swap as they were not advised of such as agents and probably they are still working on it. My problem is false advertisation by a prominent company like Telkom. Telkom is the only company that is charging for doing a swim swap and worse it is ridiculously expensive. this is a company whose majority share holders are supposed to be the public servicers and protectors but at this moment are embessling money from the very people they are supposed to protect. who do we run to for consumer protection when things are like this."The South African Government owns 40.5% of Telkom1. Institutional shareholders2 hold 44.6% of our shares, while non-institutional shareholders3 hold 9.4%. The remaining 5.5% are treasury shares4. The Department of Communications and Digital Technologies is the shareholder representative of the South African Government."
