Over Charged and Horrible Service
I signed up for a Telkom 30GB LTE Broadband package last year. All went well and I decided to upgrade to 50GB package early this year. I then found out about the Telkom double data deal in September and went to a store to Migrate to this package. I dealt with a store consultant and specifically asked how it would affect my billing to what she said that it wont except for R26 something cents for the device fee a month, So in theory my Monthly fee should have been R749.00 - for the monthly data and R26 some cents for the device, I was happy and asked her to go ahead. She stated that my contract will however start over again, again I told her go ahead I am happy with that. She then did her thing and I was on My way.
In October I received my invoice as usual and when I opened it I was shocked to find my bill being R1544 for Device and the monthly fee and being on a tight budget I immediately phoned Telkom. The *********** consultant I spoke to told me that I need to go to the same store as only the person that signed me up and the store manager can change the device fee to monthly. I was upset, but decided to go back to the store. When I got to the store the consultant was not there, so I requested the manager. The manager was unable to assist me and said I must come back to see the consultant and she would make sure the consultant changes it and phones me to confirm. A week went by without a call and I decided I would go back to the store. This time I found the consultant there and they tried to assist, after trying for ages, they came to the conclusion that it cannot be done - the Store in question is the Glen branch by the way.
So to clarify - a telkom call centre agent, a call centre manager and a Store manager have all told me that it can be changed, but yet they were unable to. The store manager then told me to reverse the Telkom debit order when the time comes and a case was logged to confirm such. Case No: ********** 1 - this was on the 25th of September 2017 - this shows as solved when tracking the case.
I eventually decided to make the payment after another 3 calls and 2 visits to the branch without success. This was done on the 30th of November 2017
On Thursday the 7th of December, I got home only to find that My internet is off. I phoned Telkom and yet again spoke to another *********** staff member who to my disgust tells me my internet has been cut due to non payment - needles to say I flipped my lid and demanded to speak to a manager, the manager was conveniently busy and for nearly 2 hours that I held the line until eventually the shift knocked off, So ****** convenient. At this point it is 12 o'clock at night so I just tell the lady that I will deal with it in the morning.
So the next day the internet is back on and I think, okay so luckily my problems are over....
Boy was I wrong - So as it is festive season, I am busy doing shopping/online shopping on Sunday the 10th of December and try to make a purchase, just to see that my payment is rejected. So I jump onto my online banking to see what the hell is going on just to find that Telkom has taken a debit order of R2000 - ***???????? I dont owe them any money and this was even confirmed by their call centre agent, so why am I being debited.
So I jump on the phone for another hour and explain my situation, demand to speak to a manager and get put on hold for 30 minutes, just for the phone to be put down in My ear.
So today, 11 December, I decide to phone again, I have phoned twice and explained my situation to the consultants, stating that the money in my account was for another payment I had to make so I need it resolved ASAP, but all they can say is that the payment is not reflecting and there is nothing they can do.
I am disgusted by the level of service I have received from day one where I requested a call back from Telkom to sign up.
I need urgent Assistance on the matter. The reference of this debit order is ********** 70N and Also need feedback on the device that I had to pay in full.
Get your act together!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yet another unhappy Telkom Customer
