Over 2 months wait for a line to be installed !!!!

Knowing I was moving house at the end of June I logged a call with Telkom on the 01st June to move my existing ADSL line to my new address.

A date was set for the 23rd June. Guess what, the date passed by and there was no word from Telkom. When i called through on 10213 i was told that i requested a cancellation only and not to move the line. ( this is hogwash.....some nincom**** forgot to log the line transfer).

I then logged another call to move the line. (this was on the 28th June). 2 weeks later, and still nothing... not even an sms acknowledging my request.

So I called again on the 12th July ((silly me), requesting progress. I was informed that the issue was still under investigation, as 'Telkom was not sure if there was ADSL coverage in my new area'. True story.

I then politely requested to cancel my old line, (I was told there was fibre coverage), and log a call to install a new fibre line. This call lasted 30 min (as the agent had to check if there was fibre coverage first).

So....2 weeks later on the 27th July, I call Telkom again, all excited that my new fibre line was almost ready to use...only to be told that there was no record of my fibre line request and i had to log a new call. This phone call lasted 40 min as the agent was having system issues and had to confirm fibre coverage (again).

Lo and behold, a subsequent call to Telkom on the 03rd August indicated that the call 'was the network department'. When i demanded to talk to a supervisor who could tell me what was going on , I was told that the supervisor of the network dept was emailed and was promised that I would receive a call by COB that same day. Its now the 10th August, and still not idea what Telkom is up to.

Telkom is a farce. I do not have any other word to describe them and this situation. An absolute farce.
