Our area being treated really BAD in Kraaifontein - ref nr 43AWK181217

We reported a fault on our landline 18/12/2017. Apparently City of Cape Town worked on pipes without informing Telkom first. In the process they damaged the cables. Since that day we have been without telephone and internet connectivity until this very moment. It made the whole scenario so unpleasant as it was over the festive season.

You can only call Telkom's call centre. We initially struggled to get hold of the municipality who were of no help. I have names of people we spoke to but nothing came off it. Mweb who is our internet service provider would sent us the same pointless sms's which contains no /zero contact numbers, all advising us that a "technician has been assigned to the problem and will report back to us". So far nothing, nada, zero. Yet my monthly debit order still goes off my account despite zero usage. How bad! Nobody gives us any useful feedback.

Mweb said on their system it showed a technician was on site and reported the problem solved yet we and our area are still without connectivity and telephone service. We don't have any fibre lines in our area. We enquired about 12mth LTE contract with Mweb but they don't have coverage in our area. Why would I sign up for a 24mth contract with Telkom if this is the service they give. Why does Telkom not install fibre lines in our Kraaifontein area i.s.o. having all these cable theft/damages in our area? We seriously need management to look into this matter and hopefully have someone call us back. My daughter needs internet as she is a registered student, my husband works from home and are losing clients as the clients complain they are not getting hold of him, plus I have had to spend like thousands of rands on prepaid data which we have to share. I seriously appeal to Telkom to consider the fibre lines for the Kraaifontein area, please please please as I believe this will be more affordable than having to use LTE-A.
