Ostrich tactics by Telkom
Telkom and ICASA seems to think that as long as they keep their heads in the sand and ignore the issue on hand it might disappear without them having to deal with it. I opened an account with Telkom for a Multi Service contract which consisted of a modem, ****le and 2 x cell phone sim cards. Since the start of the account I encountered issues. The banking details were not loaded then payments had to be made manually to get the account up to date. Reconnection fees were unfairly charged, which attracted interest. The contract had fixed limits and suddenly usage charges came through. More interest. More suspension. More reconnection fees. More interest again. All of this from Nov 2014 to date is a total of 16 months of which the account has been suspended for about 5 months in total. I visited the Telkom office again on Saturday the 5th of March and my account displayed only zero values. The gentleman and Greenstone mall was unable to view any detail of my account. There were no history of any of the disputes I lodged in the past and the only thing he could do for me was log another dispute in the system Refr:***4, but strongly believe this will also not be dealt with correctly. Attached is my reconciliation and I strongly believe that Telkom owes me at least R4,720-44 in credit. Once I receive this credit then this account must be cancelled and I will not pay any penalties. I only received one call from a customer service consultant who were rude and not willing to assist or listen to me. Other than that no calls were made to ask me what exactly the problem was or whether the dispute has now been resolved to my satisfaction. The info above was sent on the 7th March and to date the queries are still unresolved. ICASA Complaint ***/15 - no response. Bad Service Complaint on 25th April - no reply.
