Omission of facts before sale
In the second week in February 2015, a Telkom sales person phoned me and offered me a internet solution to resolve my unacceptable service from Telkom . I listened to the sales pitch and twice during the conversation, I stated that as long as the new service was better and had more features than the existing service, and in no way was less than the existing service, I would consider it. Everything that was told to me indicated that the new service was better and faster than my existing service.
As my wife previously held a Telkom account, they had all her information on record and put the new service in her name with me as the payer. When the modem and sim card was delivered to me, i saw that there was only 10 gigs per month and the new contract was over a fixed 36 month period. Points omitted from the sales pitch.
As i already had uncapped service with no fixed contract period, I declined the new service.
I contacted Telkom on the 13 February to point out the problem, they acknowledged my email but to date the problem has not been resolved and on the 28th they deducted the first premium. This is unacceptable and i will now attempt to contact ICASA and Telkom CEO.
