Number ported withoit permission and cannot get it back

I was not receiving calls a few months ago. I checked with the Telkom call center and I was told that my number was ported. The number was on prepaid. I load airtime and data every month. I visited the store with no joy. I called the call center and no one can help. I was not asked any permission to port my number. There was no correspondence at all requesting or informing me about a port. I am worried that all my apps are registered with that number. Surely someone can help.
