Nothing to rate, nothing to review.

I moved from Kuilsrivier to Wellington, logged a line transfer request with Telkom. That went swimmingly. The technicians pitched on the day, as promised, and installed my new line, and everything just worked. Telephone, Internet, everything was fine. Then I made the horrible mistake of wanting to upgrade my line speed from 4Mbps to 10Mbps.

The excuse from my ISP was that my line is connected to a card at the exchange that doesn't support speeds above 4Mbps, due to its modulation type. If I wanted this to change, I would have to speak directly to Telkom. So I did. Two days later my telephone just emits what sounds like a busy tone, and my ADSL router is unable to sync with the exchange. So I log a fault. And I contact Telkom on Twitter two to three times per day, as they promise progress, and feedback, but neither ever materialises. It is now day 3, creeping towards 36 hours with no landline, and no Internet.

I have followed up again this morning, I don't have any hope of a good outcome. There is just no service. None. Hence the title of this review, Nothing to rate, nothing to review, because they first have to render a service before it can be rated or reviewed.

Reviewer Update

24 hours later and not even as much as an email. I am so sick of this. I wish South Africa had another company to turn to for ADSL lines, because this s h i t aint working.
