NON EXISTANT TELKOM TECHNICIANS IN DURBAN
ARE YOUR TECHNICIANS INVISIBLE? ARE THEY ON PERMANENT HOLIDAY? WHY ARE THEY NOT TRAINED TO DO THE MOST BASIC WORK? Was chatting at a dinner party last night and everyone said they would move to wireless and Telkom would soon be out of business! Not surprising at all! In 2016 Telkom could not repair my line so they gave me a temp line. It came out of the pavement, through my bushes and into my office via the window! In 2017 somebody tripped on the wire running along the pavement. I reported my line down. I phoned and phoned the fault line and kept going to Telkom offices in Musgrave Center. Telkom **** and **** and said they were sending someone but nobody arrived! Two weeks went by and I still had no line! My husband spotted one of your very rare Telkom vans and followed it to the depot. He went inside and looked at the board. When he found the managers name he was able to contact him and eventually made some progress. The technician arrived but could not lift the manhole. NO EQUIPMENT. Even though we warned them about this! The next technician could not fix the fault but managed to move my temp line from the pavement to the pole. What a major leap forward!!! So three years later I still have a temp line. On the 23 December my phone started behaving erratically. Working on and off. I reported it on the 31 December. Ref no: 135CNKG11217. When I phoned to follow up yesterday (2 January) I was told it is an area cable fault. So since 23 December 2017 until 3 January 2018 none of your invisible technicians has been able to fix it. I have no faith in them! I am now going to have to cancell my Telkom line and go wireless. I look forward to hearing about Telkoms demise. Only a matter of time.
