<p>Here in Kommetjie their is a Telkom exchange where about twice a year the smoke alarm goes off, generally in the early hours of the morning, and them it just drones on for 4-8 hours before someone finally shuts the thing down. There is absolutely no point in all this noise. &nbsp;The alarm also has a remote component that goes off on some console in Pretoria - but I assume that the operator sleeps through it, unlike the people in Kommetjie. Attempting to phone the technical in Pretoria on ********** 473 is just a waste of time - it is always engaged. TELKOM, do something about this - disconnect the &nbsp;alarm on the Kommetjie end - it serves no purpose.</p>
