No, Telkom, no!!!
No, Telkom,no!! I never thought that Telkom is losing customers so rapidly that this business now has to threaten their customers, ***** from them and use ********** ways to try and hold on to people who have supported Telkom for years! I have been a customer of Telkom for about 40 years. I always had an ADLS line. I relocated to Krugersdorp and asked Telkom to disconnect my ADSL and telephone line in Discovery and to reconnect me to Telkom at my new home in Krugersdorp. Telkom disconnected my service on 26 March 2019 and the Telkom technician came to my new home on 27 March 2019 to connect me again with a land line and a ADSL line. The problem was that where I live there is no Telkom connection. I was asked to go to Telkom stores to buy a Telkom rooter for wireless connection. The store didn't have stock and I was sent to another Telkom store in Clearwater Mall. They were also out of stock. I was told that it would take 6 months for me to get a Telkom wireless rooter because no stock was available. Because I need internet connection asap, I was forced to buy a Cell C rooter and a Vodacom phone. I phoned Telkom to make sure that my Telkom service (data) was disconnected. I was assured that it was. I begged Telkom to keep on using my Telkom email address. I need this email address because all my clients have been contacting me for years using it. I opened a "stand alone email account' which I was told would cost me R15.00 a month. In May 2019 I received an account from Telkom which threatened to disconnect my email address account if I didn't pay the amount of R818.00. They threatened me that all my emails would be blocked if I didn't pay the ********** account. I paid this amount on 13 July 2019. I was again assured that I was disconnected from any other Telkom service except my 'stand alone email account' of R15.00 a month. On 12 August 2019 I received another Telkom bill for R368.35 and I was again threatened by Telkom when I phoned them that my telkomsa email address will be blocked if I didn't pay it immediately. The last time I used data or airtime from Telkom was on 26 March 2019. My 'stand alone email account" costs me R15.00 per month. How on earth can I owe Telkom so much? In other words - I had to pay a total amount of R1 186.35 to use a telkomsa email address for 5 months which is supposed to cost me no more than R75.00 for the last 5 months. Is Telkom really now so desperate that they have to threaten a senior citizen and ***** from her just to keep using an email address. Every time I try to phone Telkom to discuss this with them, the phone call costs me more than R100.00 because I have to use Vodacom airtime. And Telkom does not answer any phone calls. I asked the Telkom store to phone for me and they told me that the Telkom store had no phone to make or receive any calls. Theft, ***** and Threats - is that how Telkom wants to force old customers to stay connected to them? No, Telkom, No!!!
