No Telkom Infrastructure - Order ***

We moved house end of Jan '17 from one Suburb to another. I phoned Telkom mid Jan '17 to enquire about the process to move our services to the new house and even gave our New Address to the Consultant. The Consultant indicated that I should phone back once we're in the New House, then they will disconnect our service at the old address and then move the line to the new address.

I phoned Telkom back on 25/01/2017 when we moved in to the new house to make the necessary changes etc. First the Consultant experienced technical difficulties & indicated that she would sms me the reference number. Never received anything and I phoned back on 26/01/2017 just to find out that the previous Consultant did not complete the call on 25/01/2017, so I had to do it over again.

On 28/01/2017 I received an sms to say that the Installation is scheduled for 07/02/2017 (10 days later). On 07/02/2017 I waited at home the entire day, but NO Telkom Technician pitched and when I phoned Telkom @ 15h00 to enquire about the (lack of) Technician, the Consultant indicated that I had to wait until 16h00 before I could phone back to log an escalation if a Technician still did not pitch.

On 08/02/2017 @ 11h40 I received a phone call from a Technician, indicating that he was in front of our gate!! I indicated that the appointment was for the 07th and NOT the 8th and had to reschedule to the 11/02/2017. The Technician never pitched at our premises on 11/02/2017 only phoned me @ 09h10 to indicate that the Order has been given back to Telkom as there is NO infrastructure in the area!!!

We subsequently visited the Cradlestone Telkom Shop and they indicated that our area is in the process of being changed over to fibre, but that they are currently only busy in Pinehaven (which is 8.6kms away from us) and have no timeline as to when we can expect to receive a line!!!

This is ridiculous!!!!!! At NO point did ANY Consultant indicate to me that there is no infrastructure in the area and as such, we've been without Internet Access for 3 weeks now, with no prospect of being "up and running" in the near future. But yet, Telkom STILL invoices us for an ADSL Term Contract for which we've not had any service.

Telkom is in breach of their contract as they CANNOT provide the service we signed up for and as such I insist on being released from the remainder of the contract (8 months left on 24 month contract) WITHOUT any penalties, then I'll obtain the services of ANOTHER service provider.
