No telephone line - no adsl - no alarm!
Our Telkom telephone line went down on 24 December 2015. As we were away at the time - I was only able to log the fault officially with Telkom on 08 January 2016 (fault # 531CWK080116). This fault was subsequently 'escalated' (ref # 808 863). To date, depsite daily phonecalls to the Telkom fault logging call centre (where one stays on hold for 20-30 minutes per call which is absolutely unacceptable!) we still have no telephone line which means no adsl and (more importantly) no house alarm connection. This leaves us VERY vulnerable to crime - and means that if we are broken into, our insurers will not pay out compensation. Every day I call the Telkom fault line (10210) all I get told is that a technician has been assigned - and that he will contact me. To date - nobody has called or updated me. It is unfathomable that this problem should take so long to be rectified and that there is ZERO communication from Telkom to me about the status of the fault. No doubt I will be billed by Telkom at the end of January for a telephone line and ADSL that I haven't had - but if I don't pay it, they will disconnect the line. Its a NO WIN situation for me! 'Frustration' is an understatement...
