No service or contract, but excessive charge

To whom it may concern

I migrated from an ADSL service to Fibre in September 2016. Vumatel provides the infrastructure and Telkom acts as ISP. It has been a nightmare from the outset and I’m really battling to make sense of it all.

I’ve been extremely patient realising that, as a new service, there would be teething problems.

So, it’s a long story of who said/did what and when, over a period two months.

Technical support.

I have spoken with 15 – 20 different people. Most have a different approach. Some try to reset, others refuse, they want a B number, which does not exist. They also refuse to take up the issue with the Sales department, saying I should do so.

Furthermore, I still have no contract, Technical Support staff cannot solve the Internet connection problems, and keep referring me back to Sales for a B number that does not exist (in two months I went through this particular process three times), and I’ve received a SMS informing me that I owe them more than R1400.00. This, while I’ve signed up for a R799 per month service. Work that out, if you can.

Conclusions

What is obvious is that:-

1. There is not a standardised procedure.

2. The different departments don’t work together.

3. Individuals at the Tech Dept. refer most of the cases to seniors, indicating a lack of training.

Please tell me how to stop this craziness and stop the contract that I have not yet received so that I can sign up with another service provider.
