No service for landline telephone poles

I have bought a house that has a telephone pole outside the boundary wall - sitting right next to the wall. The seller used Telkom landline and Telkom fibre. I am putting in Vumatel fibre. The telephone pole is obsolete. But more importantly is a security hazard as anyone can easily climb the pole and get access to my roof and property. HOWEVER YOU CANNOT SPEAK TO ANYONE AT TELKOM and their chatbot cannot give any answers to any questions related to telephone poles. Im tempted to cut the old wires and try get someone to chainsaw the pole BUT apparently the pole is Telkom property and I am not allowed to do this. Has anyone ever had this same problem? Reddit seems to think so but the answers all say "Telkom hasnt / wont repond". "Take matters into your own hands." "Cut it down and they will never notice."
