No service for community for over 2 months

<p>Our community is rural. We rely on Telkom "radio" type telephones. Each home has a transmitter antennae which connects to a main tower in the area.</p> <p>In July this year the power line was ****** (again) to the tower and Telkom has a supply issue with parts for the transmitter boxes (apparently they are not made anymore) so even when the tower used to be operational we had constant downtimes due to parts that are so old.</p> <p>Living in a farming community with almost no cell phone reception we rely on the Telkom lines for fire warnings, security alert systems and medical emergencies. One neighbour has even offered space on his land for any of the cell phone companies to erect a tower. There is just no interest. This is ridiculous.</p> <p>At least Telkom have not billed us since August but that does not resolve this urgent problem. Could they not just cement in the power line or come up with some other solution and even just communicate with us as to what they plan to do. We receive no updates from them.
