I had a contract with Telkom for their Telkom data deals with a router to connect to the WiFi. The contract was a 2 years contract which was supposed to end in Janruary 2020, and I was paying an amount of R140 for 24 months. When the contracted ended, I then went to one of their branches in Maponya Mall so I could upgrade the deal. I was told by a consultant that renewing or upgrading the contract wouldn’t be necessary as I would still be receiving the same deal but I would have to pay R50 more. I agreed to what they offered me. The first debit order after the contract had ended, Telkom took more than what they said I would be paying (R50). When I went to enquire about the transaction, they told me that because I didn’t cancel the previous contract with them when it ended, the new one carried on and it had errors. They say that the consultant who helped me at the time I wanted to upgrade the contract had made a mistake and as a result I have to pay more money due to those errors and the money they debit every month doubles up, now the money they say I owe is about R1248,22 but no ones seems to know why and how. No one can explain this to me.
