No service

Pathetic service. Our line is now down for the third time in two months.

Telkom can't provide the service I signed up for, but I need to keep on paying. BUT they say just contact billing and they will refund you for the downtime. This won't change the fact that I am without internet and business, but I have to accept.

How do I cancel the contract without paying penalties as they can't provide the service I am paying for?

I tried to upgrade since January 2018 from ADSL to Fibre. Order taken, when I follow up I get told that the order is not there, then I place a new order but the system can't take it because there is already an order. I phone again to inquire about the order, but they can't find it. After almost shouting they find the order and "escalate". Couple days later, same story. Finally calling Vumatel and they tell me Telkom is not using Vumatel lines in my suburb. Why couldn't Telkom tell me this in the beginning. Since in contract and no way to even get a cancellation fee I decided to upgrade from 40Gb Softcap to homeUnlimited. Telkom stuffed up again. Didn't upgrade but created a new account. Now I have 1 line coming into my house but billed for 2 lines. I want Telkom to cancel the extra line so that I only have the upgraded homeUnlimited 4mbps for R599 on my account. Numbers are *** and ***. Plus I can't make any calls to any of those lines. Why can't I receive incoming calls?

I responded a week ago, but still no answer. A call was logged about slow network speed on 16 March. It is almost a month ago and the technician is still working on the fault. In the meantime I need to sit with a linespeed of about 1.5mbps on a 4mbps line. Dropping from 4mbps to 1.5mbps sometimes for short durations would still be acceptable, but 1.5mbps is currently our max speed and it would drop to below 1mbps more often than not. How do I cancel the contract due to non-delivery? I pay 100% of the fee, but only get 25% of the speed in return. Good deal for Telkom, but certainly not for the customer.

Another two weeks and no action from Telkom. Haven't had speed of more that 1mbps in a long time. Usually around 0.46mbps. I am at the of stop paying until they fix the problem because they keep on taking my money and not delivering
