No response on reported fault

Lightning struck my phone line and I reported a fault after replacing my telephone handset and still had no service. (Fault ref. no. 456CTK211116)

I called 10210 and tried to get an update, but the person I spoke to said it will be fixed remotely and I will receive an SMS. I repeatedly asked 'WHEN?' (in fact it was my ionly question after he answered), but he ciould not or would not tell me. How long am I supposed to have no service and no ADSL connectivity while my kids are writing exams and need to do research?

Pathetic!

Oh how nice...

Another reference number but two days later still no action or contact.

A Telkom technician arrived at my house today (a week later) and told my mom-in-law that if she can't get a telephone number for the neighbour (in who's yard the pole is), he will not fix the problem. Since when is it our job to arrange access for technicians? How can he go and make demands like that?

I do not have my neighbour's telephone number, I don't even know his name

Telkom, you are seriously dropping the ball here and I hope I will be compensated for being without ANY service and having arrogant technicians trying to throw their weight around.

Please conatct me ASAP - this need to be escalated. I don't need another reference number, I need to speak to someone!
