No one can feedback on length of outage

The ADSL has been down in our area since 10th March. The phone line has stopped as well. I reported it to Telkom and other than the SMS with the case number, have had no feedback. I then found the cable lying in the road. I reported it as some have phone working but no ADSL. I was told to wait until the cable department worked out if they had a cable to fix it, no idea how long it may be. prior to this, my ADSL line as been running less than .60 Meg/ Sec ( I have photos from their test site) and in spite of doing everything they suggested , including buying a new Telkom phone, the line speed was fluctuating and stopping at least 10 times a day. I pay for a service and am not getting it. They said if I want a 4 meg line, not possible as I am more than 5 km from the exchange ???? What about those in the Karoo? an exchange every 5 km along the N1? They say go fibre at R 1500 per month and 48 month contract. Get real, get my line working properly and quickly, otherwise I am going the Consumer protection Act route. I see no technician working in the area, only on the weekend when the sun is out. I will have to take Telkoms directors to the Small Claims Court for my extra mobile cost
