No one can assist with activation!

I ordered a Telkom wifi router. The courier company, Courier IT did not bother to contact me to make arrangements for delivery, and eventually I had to collect it myself from the depot. Now, I am unable to activate the sim card because none of the Telkom numbers I am referred to know what to do. One lady told me it should already be activated prior to opening the package... another said it takes 24 - 48 hours (and we are on 38 hours now). Can someone just tell me how to activate this?
