No line, pathetic service, and hidden agendas

We have been without a telephone or ADSL line since 13 September. After reporting the problem, we were kept waiting for days before we saw any progress. Upon checking up on progress, we were told to download the app to check for updates. To this day, we are unable to get the app to work. We are also DONE with the inefficiencies of your email support, which goes round and round and round in circles with no resolve. So, after years of struggling with outdated support and ****ty customer service, we decided to finally cancel our service and did so on 18 September. On 23 September, we received a message to say that, due to repeated cable incidents in our area, Telkom would not be repairing our line and would instead be offering us an alternative solution. Of course, we’ve not heard anything about this “alternative solution” but I’m willing to bet money that the agenda is to force us to take a fibre package. In fact, I’m pretty sure that this was the agenda all along, and that there isn’t a huge “cable problem” with our line at all. Problem is that we are already in our cancellation period, and have taken out fibre with another provider. We found far better options out there than what Telkom could offer. Now, however, we are locked into a 30-day cancellation period, with no service. We have asked for an immediate cancellation due to Telkom being unwilling to restore our current service, but that request was denied. Now, we are being expected to pay out our full notice month with nothing to show for it? Who’s in breach of contract here? Us? We don’t think so. How can we be? We will be taking this further, to the relevant regulatory bodies. In the meantime, we shan’t be paying another cent. We have nothing to lose, afterall, so do what you will.
