No internet Telkom

Had fiber installed. They call me and ask if the router is installed, if I am aware that I need to plug it into a power socket as if I am stupid. Problem is, I cant connect. Phoned this morning, they were offline..... phoned 6 hours later, still offline. How can an internet service provider not have internet?
