NO INTERNET - NO CUSTOMER SERVICE

ADSL line damaged 7 February. Reported and got fault no 9 February. Since then have been calling two to three days daily to get the line fixed. Was told I would have the line fixed before 23 February. Received a call on 20 February to see if technician could go and fix line. There was no-one at the premises to let them proceed. Requested that they give me a call back so that I could make a plan to let them have access. I asked really nicely that I do not lose my spot and that I anticipated not hearing from them again. As anticipated, I have again not heard from anyone so I guess this will wait until the weekend again. I have had internet for only 7 days in February but I bet I will be invoiced for the whole month. I am happy to pay for the service I have received and had anyone been even remotely understanding or helpful at any stage whatsoever, I would have been less stubborn and paid my bill. Right now I will fight not to pay for February and I have cancelled my contract with Telkom and am in the process of receiving alternative service. Despite the fact that I have cancelled my contract, surprise, surprise, no-one from Telkom has even bothered to contact me. The only thing I know is that Telkom absolves itself from reqposibility even in the cancellation process by stating that someone will contact me within 21 days of receiving my cancellation notice in order to progress the cancellation, meaning that not only do I have to wait and pay for the 21 days it takes them to get their ducks in a row but I will more than likely have to give the required notice thereafter. In other words, I am paying for a worse than useless service for almost two months longer than I need to. Go figure Telkom - imagine if all business was run this way.
