No Internet For Almost A Week Now

I have been having problems with my internet since last week Wednesday and the problem is still not resolved by Telkom at the time of writing this review. I am an IT professional and I am heavily reliant on having access to the internet from home to do my job effectively. My problem started with slow internet, then no internet at all. I call the Telkom support call center on a daily basis to find out what's going on and I am not getting any results or progress from this.

The service I been getting is bittersweet since there have been extremely helpful agents, but the biggest problem is that I do not get this problem resolved with due urgency. I talk to agent after agent and go through modem setups like a parrot (at least 20 repeated setups) and the authentication problem on my line is not being resolved, eventhough Telkom responded saying it was, but still no internet. I have bought a new modem, I have gone through setups, I have tried diffirent modems, I have spoken to supervisers yet still no support from Telkom in sorting the line out. In the meantime I have to buy mobile data that is really expensive to do my job from home and its already costing me more than my monthly Telkom subscription.

I am at the point of cutting Telkom out of the picture entirely and starting my migration to a new ISP. I have not been getting service and the lack of service has cost me having to buy a new modem, cause my old one couldn't be tested at a Telkom store since there was no technicians, and having to buy mobile data to get through my day to day work. It took me 2 days of phoning before a fault was logged even and I got told by the agent it should have been logged the first day. Since then every call to support ended up with "let's configure your router" and the problem on the line remains unattended to.

So the race has begun, let's see if Telkom can migrate a line faster to a new ISP than they can resolve a problem on it.
