No International SMS roaming

<p>I have been a loyal telkom mobile customer for many year now. I like their no frills approach and simple pricing. Although I could be a contract customer I prefer the control that I get from prepaid. I ported from Vodacom about 5 years ago or so (so I still have a 076 vodacom number).</p> <p>The issue is that I have left the country for about 3 months. My understanding from reading various pieces of the Telkom mobile website as well as other Telkom Mobile comments online was that, as a prepaid customer, I would automatically get SMS roaming internationally. The cost would be R1.50 which is expensive but acceptable given the circumstance. There is even a list of the participating networks in Georgia (the country Im in) - but when I try to connect to those networks it wont let me - it only allows emergency calls.</p> <p>My question is can I enable international SMS roaming on my telkom mobile number? If so, how? If not, why?</p> <p>Thanks</p>
