No interest in customers, no service delivery

Had my landline and the fastest uncapped internet available in my area from Telkom for the last 3 years. It was quite ok the first 2 years, then the speed started to drop. I do regular speed tests and I usually get 1/4 to 1/2 of the download speed I pay for. The upload speed is close to 0 all the time. Horrible!

I keep on complaining. But Telkom refuses to respond. The only time I hear from Telkom is, when my payment is a few days late.

Fortunatelly I am not on a contract and I am busy getting ride of this expensive non-existing service.

Telkom goodbye

Wow, within an hour of my review on hellopeter I got a phone call and Telkom now tries to solve the problem. Don't know why it does not work when you contact Telkom through their own website and/or go complain at Telkom's office. Anyway, hellopeter is my new channel if I need customer care ;-)

I was told that the Telkom technicians are trying to solve the problem. But I never got a feedback, that the problem could be solved. Instead I received 2 SMS from Telkom to rate their service. Annoying!

For a few days the speed was around 3MBit/s (I pay for 4MBit/s which I never got, but I can live with 3MBit/s), now it is down to 1MBit/s again and I can't even download a file bigger than a few MB!

Thank you Telkom again for your bad service and stupid processes. I was out of the country for a month and paid my bill late (although the due date on the latest bill is 03 Aug and I paid on the 31st of July, so I was actually still on time). Telkom switched off my landline and internet.

By the way, I'm still waiting for the 4MBit/s bandwith for which I pay. Maybe Telkom could take their bad service into consideration when it comes to a late payment. But I guess such fairplay is wishful thinking.

After paying through the Telkom website (and receiving a confirmation for my payment) the line was still down. Calling the support, I got informed, that it takes 48 hours to be switched on. This morning after 48 hours the line was back. Tonight the phone line still works, but the internet is down again.

Thank you Telkom, that the only working process seems to be the billing process.

For the 5th day in a row no internet. From now on I count the days without internet and I will subtract those days from my next bill.

You are so fast in switching off when a customer does not pay in time. But you are not even able to provide basic service. Please tell me what we customers actually pay for!!!!
