No assistance, no compassion. do nothing but close the case

I am complaining on behalf of a friend, Vera Willburger, She is in her 80s and confined to a wheelchair, Her husband is in his 90s and just about blind and deaf. On July 29, 2018 I phoned her only to receive a message: "the number you have dialled does not exist." She paid somebody to take her to Telkom's office and was told that her account was not paid. She went to the bank, got bank statements as proof of payment. She went back and forth six times, her phone was not reconnected. I reported it via email and received this message: :"We tried to check if you are allowed to report a fault for ********** but there was a system issue. Either check if the number is correct, or, if the problem persists TALK TO US to help resolve your problem. She went back to TELKom and told them again that the problem had not been solved. |She was again told that her account was in arrears. She then gave the assistant her cellphone and asked her to phone the number. The message came: the number you have dialled does not exist. On 22 Sept she took her phone to TELKOM and gave it back to them. She is still receiving accounts although the number does not exist and she no longer has a phone, On Sunday, 24 March 2019, she received a message that Case Number: ********** 9 was resolved. She had to call 081180 for Telkom Mobile related queries and 10210 for Telkom services and products queries. She phoned them and was just told that the problem had been resolved. The operator then ended the call. It is now 8 months later and she is still without a landline. Her children are in Cape Town and the UK. She relies heavily on a telephone to conduct her personal affairs . She finds it very hard to operate her cellphone and has to rely heavily on other people for assistance. It also costs a lot more to use her cellphone. For what reason did Telkom treat her in such a despicable way?

The telephone was registered in her husband's name.K M Willburger. Her cellphone number is : ********** 517.

I really hope that you can help this poor woman to solve the problem.
