NO ASSISTANCE

From February 2021, I have been contacting Telkom in connection with my billing date as well as the method in which I receive my statements on a monthly basis. I changed employment in February and contact Telkom requesting for my account to be debited on the 1st of every month due to the fact that I now get paid on the last day of each month. To date this has not been changed and I am being penalised with bank charges due to returned debits as a result of this, not to mention the fact that it will have a negative impact on my credit record. I have called Telkom countless times to change this only to have my account debited on the wrong date when there is no funds available.

Generally my instalment is supposed to be R199 but my account is debited with an amount of R238 each month. Last month I called again to enquire about this and to decline an upgrade and rather opted for the sim only deal, I was advised that i would be debited an amount of R500.70 (instalment + once off fee's), I agreed to this once off fee as it is mandatory, but sadly ONCE AGAIN MY ACCOUNT WAS DEBITED ON THE 25TH and not the 1st as agreed upon. The debit was returned due to insufficient funds again and on the 30th my account was debited again this time it was successful as I had been paid.

When I last called Telkom, I asked to get my statements via email which was thankfully changed as I received my statement today but to my horror I am now advised that my account will be debited with an amount of R902.40, being arrears + instalment + once off fees.!!!!!! How is this possible when my account was re debited successfully on the 30th July .

Also how is it that the debit date has not been changed as requested yet the method of receiving my statements has changed as requested in the very same call.

I cannot keep up and I am about to contact the ombudsman with regards to this because it is absolutely frustrating in addition to it being unprofessional and *********.
