No ADSL ports available

Signed up with Afrihost to get ADSL and data. Contacted Telkom at end of February 2016 to install phone line.
After waiting a couple of weeks, a technician finally came and installed the phone.
Afrihost says they waiting on Telkom to activate DSL line. I phone Telkom and the story changes everytime I call. Eventually I track down a local Telkom guy in the area and he confirms that there are no ports in the area and that I am after 200 people!!!
Now I'm paying for a line rental that I'm not using and was specifically just for ADSL and it is the 20th April 2016 already!!! (2 months later)
Telkom can't even give me a definite date when I'll be connected. Could no one tell me before I signed up with anyone there's no ports after wasting so much time and money?
Surely a business cannot be run like this? Is there no planning in place for situations like these?
Pathetic, absolutely pathetic.
Sky high prices coupled with ******* services.
\Sorry there's nothing we can do, if there's no ports then there's no ports\".
Absolutely not happy at all with the service thus far.
"

Still no progress...... I got an email from telkom below.... Hi Luqmaan Hope this email finds you well. Please note that we would not be able to advise you regarding the ADSL port availability if you only requested a land line from Telkom at the time of applying for a landline only. Your ISP should have advised you upon your ADSL application with them. Please follow up with your ISP. Regards Rafeeqah Specialist: Social Media This was my reply to which I still haven't received anything.... Hi I requested a landline specifically to activate the DSL part for home internet. I decided to go with Afrihost as my ISP as they have the best rates. Afrihost provides a service where they request Telkom to activate the DSL line. They cannot and could not provide me with a reason for Telkom taking so long to activate the line. I then took it upon myself to call Telkom and follow up with them directly. I have called many times and the call centre requests my house number (021 6***xx5) and ID number from which they could tell me that there are no ports available. So how can someone on 10210 be able to give me this feedback and you cannot??? Surely Telkom knows that they don’t have sufficient ports but know where is that mentioned to the public. My ISP cannot do anything for me if Telkom has insufficient ports. I am now paying for a telephone line which I have no need for. I also stopped a local Telkom van in my road last week and begged him to double check for me at the exchange points. He told me that I’m in line after about 200 people!!! Based on this it is clear that I cannot depend or wait on Telkom because for so many people to be in a que indicates that they have been waiting for quite a while. Where do we go from here?? I am not going to give up and let Telkom ignore customers. Telkom is a professional company that should act professionally. This comes down to a simple task called planning properly.
