New contract under false pretences

On the 5th September I received a call from Telkom call centre as my 24 month Telkom mobile contract had ended, and they wanted me to upgrade. I stated that I was very happy on my current package and wanted to continue on a month to month basis. The agent said in no uncertain terms that it was NOT possible to carry on month to month, and I had to take out another 24 month contract, as once my current contract ended it would be cancelled. She said however the new contract would cost more as I was getting a new router, I repeatedly asked if I would be getting exactly the same benefits and that it would just be an extension of exisitng contract , to which she always rep**** YES. I eventually agreed to extend my contract by another 24 months, only to find out the next month when our internet was extremely slow that we were being throttled.... I phoned and it was confirmed that I was on a completely new contract with less benefits for which I was paying more, I was also told that it was possible to have continued on a month to month basis.

I logged a case, which after 2 weeks was said to be resolved, and all I had to do was go into a Telkom store for them to migrate me back onto my previous contract. In store they could not do it as my previous deal wasn't available anymore. The manage tried to help and after another 2 weeks was told I had to phone again and log another query.

That was on the 13 Nov, 10 days later I received notification that the case had been resolved, and after endless phone calls to see what the resolution was, I am told it was closed but with no feedback and to once again go back to the store to sort it out.

I have given Telkom ample opportunity to keep my business and rectify the problem, I was **** to and coherced into a new contract by one of their agents.

I am now done, and want my contract cancelled with no fees and charges, however once again no one can or wants to assist me from Telkom
