Never had a problem but now I understand why everyone hates you

After many happy years with Telkom, I understand now that the years were happy because I rarely had an issue that needed a technician to fix.

I live in a complex where there are five of us (Telkom users) that are without ADSL, mine started off with only the landline not working but since Friday my ADSL is also now not working. By estimation, about 9 different technicians have come out to our premises and all of them have said the exact same thing "The fault is 76m away from the complex, we will need to send another team", needless to say, the other team has never arrived. Four weeks later, nothing has been done to fix this. There was a technician on Friday but after he 'fixed' the problem I still don't have a working landline and my ADSL has now gone too. Everyone is still stuck with a dead line that we sure as hell still had to pay for.

For the life of me, I cannot imagine how it takes more than four weeks to fix a problem for five loyal Telkom customers?

I find this unacceptable and I am so deeply disappointed in Telkom because I have always been happy with your service and I always recommend you to anyone wanting ADSL.

For shame!

Melaney Luwes

Reference number: 411CTK300916

Hi Noleen

Thank you for getting back to me. Do you want me to give you my cellphone number? The number I added was my landline number to make it easier for you to query on your side.

The "unknown party" can only be the guys that have been laying the fibre optic cables in our area for the past 3 weeks, a third party contracted by Telkom I assume?

I understand that it could be a lengthy process, but surely 4 weeks is an abnormal amount of time to have to wait? On Friday, someone came out to start with the repairs, the guy left at 3pm and said he would be back on Saturday to finish the job, needless to say - that did not happen. I can still cope without my landline but being without ADSL is a major hassle, as I'm sure you can imagine.

Where do we go from here? Will you let me know how much further we have to wait? As I'm sure you can understand - I'm willing to wait days, but no longer weeks. This is something that could have been fixed sooner.
