Negligent Telkom
I emailed my new banking details through to telkom on 29/11/2017 and changed my debit order date and upgraded. As a result no debit order was deducted in December, but was deducted double from my account in January, which wasn't an issue, the issue is that I didn't realize that the debit order was still being deducted from the wrong account as I was overseas and my savings was in the account from which they took the debit order. So they try to deduct the debit order in February, and it bounces because again they are trying to deduct it from the wrong account, which now is empty, so I phone them and tell them and the lady tells me that I need to make a manual payment, which is fine. This month I get a statement with a R200.94 fee that I have to pay along with my monthly amount, that nobody informed me about. So today I phone them, and after being on the line from 11:50, someone eventually answers at 13:40, I explain my situation to them and she says that I have to pay this amount because it bounced in February. I then tell her but the mistake was not on my side but on theirs, and all she says is she can't do anything about it. So because of Telkom's own shortcomings I now have to pay for their mistake. This is the absolute worst answer and service I have ever received. I will definitely not be renewing my contract with Telkom.
