Nearly 2-Month Delay and counting on iPhone Repair Claim – Poor Service from Telkom Device Insurance / OMART Insure / Worldwide Advisory Services
I am extremely disappointed with the service I’ve received from Telkom Device Insurance, underwritten by OMART Insure and administered by Worldwide Advisory Services.
It has been almost two months since I submitted my device claim, and it remains unresolved. The main reasons for the delay have been poor communication, a lack of progress updates, and repeated requests for my iPhone passcode—despite my clear explanation that providing it would violate both Apple’s official data protection policy and South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Apple explicitly advises against sharing device passwords with third parties to protect users’ personal data. It’s concerning that a company operating in the technology and insurance space is unaware of—or chooses to ignore—these critical privacy guidelines.
I’ve made every effort to cooperate and even offered secure alternatives, but the lack of urgency and disregard for proper processes have been deeply frustrating. I strongly urge Telkom Device Insurance, OMART Insure, and Worldwide Advisory Services to review and align their procedures with global standards and South African law to prevent this kind of experience for other customers.
This has been one of the worst insurance experiences I’ve encountered, and I would not recommend their services based on this interaction.
