My worst first time experience
I port my number from Vodacom to Telkom Mobile on 19th November 2017 and I was given a sim-card at Southgate Telkom Mobile. I was advised to wait for 72 hours for my port to be completed indeed on Tuesday 21st November 2017 I inserted the sim-card and it never gave me any network. Called Telkom Mobile’s contact centre I was told to go and visit Telkom mobile store. I went to Westgate I queued like anyone else for 30 minutes, spoke to the lady she was so arrogant she was busy scanning some document I quote ‘’ sorry If you see me not pay attention to you Am just busy with something else’’ while scanning documents. I explain my problem to her she said ‘’please wait on the queue again for a consultant Am not a consultant. I was told that Westgate Telkom mobile is not same as Telkom Mobile at Southgate arrogantly Consultant came I explain that the sim-card I got from your store the contact centre consultant said I must visit the store to fix or issue a new sim card. He then told me that there is nothing he can do his offline, while customers are queuing and thinking that they will be serviced or resolved their problems then the act like a South African home affairs and say their offline. Fist interaction with Telkom Mobile as a potential customer was never a polite or friendly interaction. Please educate your staff on query resolution. An organisation with good customer service would lead to retain customer and also gain more customers. Even today I don’t have network I need to pot back to Vodacom and Telkom mobile gave me a case number ********** 8 and I must wait for another 7 working days from 22nd November 2017 so my case would be resolved on the 01st December 2017. To port a number at Telkom Mobile takes 13 days including weekends.
