Moving Line is a nightmare

So it appears, unbeknownst to its customers, Telkom has introduced a new policy that when moving to a rival service provider the subscriber should now make a direct request to Telkom to move the line over. This may all seem logical but previously, your new service provider would liaise with Telkom to move the line with little downtime. Now, to make matters difficult in a very anti-competition fashion (with really no regard for the consumer), once a request has been made to move the line, your line is then placed in a pool and suspended until the migration is complete. What's worse it that there is no timeline provided on how long this migration could take and you are still required to pay for services on that line indefinitely or not pay and risk losing it. Because there's no transparency, this could easily turn into a blame game between 2 service providers, with the consumer paying the ultimate price. If Telkom placed as much emphasis on improving their service and offering rather than holding their customers to ransom then perhaps they wouldn't have to worry about customers moving to competition.
