More than 72 hours without connectivity

My phone was lost on Friday 20th January after which I requested the suspension of the sim card to avoid any unauthorised calls. I went to my nearest Telkom Retail outlet on Saturday 21st January to perform a sim swop. This was first thing Saturday 9am. I was advised that teh sim swop will take 24 hours due to the suspension on the line.

The following day Sunday 22nd January I returned to teh retail store to inform them that the sims was still not active. I was assured that the matter has now been escaleted and that I should received a resolution by the following day.

Throughout my interaction with the retail outlet as well as call centre agent I expressed teh urgency of the matter and that the number was used as a business contact number.

I am schocked that there is no propper escaltion for issues where the exceptable time frame for resoltion has been far exceeded. The standard response is that teh matter has been escalated and have been extracted for processing. No where is there clear accountability of expectation set throughout the process which makes it very frustrating for me as the consumer.

I had teh same incident with my previous service provider and teh matter was resolved within 30 mins of my initial request. Here I am with Telkom3 days after the incident without any indication to when teh matter will be resolved.

I also fail to understand why one needs to go to these lenghts to get any action out of Telkom Mobile.
