Month to month *******
I took out a month to month 8mb adsl line for R799 with telkom.. went well for the first few months and then i decided to not pay it as I couldn't afford to have it. Then 2 months go buy and I receive a bill for R2700. But the line was suspended as soon as I didn't pay it.. how can I be paying for a service I never received and I don't have any router or anything with them. Yet I must pay for the months that it was off in full... Called contact centre and they said I'm still being charged as the line is suspended. Which means as it is here in my house I'm still paying for it! R800 for a dead wire a month

09 Mar 2018, 11:03How is that even legal? I was told that if I don't receive the service then I won't have to pay for it. I would of understood if I was able to use your services during that period, but it was off. Surely this is against the consumer protection act, telkom has incurred no costs by me, due to the line being off. So how is it justified that they seek payment for services they never rendered. I signed or opted for no contractual agreement. It's on a month to month basis.. please send me the contract of the month to month so I and my solicitor can have a look at it. I would need to see the information in black and white that you are providing me. Either I was misled or there's something else going on. It is unacceptable to pay for a good or service not received, I would not question this if I was under a 24 month contractual agreement
