Missed Appointment and Apparently No Technician was even allocated

I placed an order with Telkom on 2017-07-25. To my surprise they phoned me the next day on the 26th to tell me that a technician would be at my house on the 27th (2017-07-27) to carry out the installation between 08:00 and 12:00

When 12:00 came and went, I called 10213 and spoke to Nonhlanhla.

She verified all of my details and located my order.

She told me that a technician was on their way but that the booking was actually an all day booking and that I should expect them before 16:00.

When 16:00 came and went, I called 10213 and spoke to a lady (I couldnt get her name because of the background noise)

Once the agent had pulled up my order, she told me that the appointment was on her system but that they had not actually allocated a technician to the appointment, so nobody was coming (well it was now after 16:00 so I was quite sure nobody would be coming)

She told me that all that she could do was log a "missed appointment" note on the system and then wait for someone to call me back within 48 hours to reschedule the appointment.

This is just SHOCKING service actually. How do you make an appointment with a client, make them take off from work so they can sit at home all day and then not even tell the technician that they are meant to be doing the installation?

Absolutely PATHETIC!

Reviewer Update

Nobody ever called. So I called 10213. Telkom seems insistent on making appointments with me so I can sit at home all day wasting my time only for nobody to ever show up.

So now I'm fed up. I phoned 10213 at 17:20 tonight and placed a cancelation on this order. The agent confirmed that everything was canceled although she could not give me a reference number.

I'll place an order with a third party ISP and give them my business rather.

Regards.

Chris
