Misled and ********** Customer
I took out a Telkom Cellphone contract at the end of September. The contract is for R469 a month. I was advised that there is no prepaid option on the deal and I said if it is only on the open contract I want it to be capped at just the R469 a month as I could not afford to get a surprise bill. I was advised that I would only be billed the R469 and that I would be getting 10gig for the first 3 month and thereafter 1 gig a month. On my second month I was billed R525.73. I called the customer care line as I was confused as why I was not billed the signed for contract amount. The consultant said that the contract was capped at a maximum spend of R500. I told her that its impossible as I had specifically stated that I just want the contract amount that I had signed for and I had even called the customer care line 2 weeks after taking out the contract at the store to double check that I would only be billed R469.I got my bill for the third month this Sunday and I was shocked to see that Telkom wants to bill me R874.39 at the end of this month. I did not sign up to get surprise bills each and every month .This is not the agreement I signed up for. Please fix my bill to be the R469 that I signed my contract to be each month as I cannot afford to be having issues each month and I cannot afford this amount that you seem to want to debit off my account this coming month end , as It is not what I signed up for.If you are unable to fix this mess that you seem to be causing me I am more that willing to cancel this contract as I am being misled into something that I did not agree too. You can even pull up the conversation I had with your Customer agents about making sure that the contract the I was sold would not give me surprises and I was assured that I would just be paying the R469 a month. I look forward to this issue being resolved before month end comes .
