Mislead into a contract I didn’t want/ask for
About a month and a half ago, I app**** for a month-to-month sim contract. The consultant at telkom assisted me and I mentioned to her that I’m taking out this contract to complete my online exams and would only need this deal for a month or two and will come in to cancel.
This deal worked nicely for me as I had a suspicion that I may be without work, hence me being so happy for the month-to-month deal. I could never have committed to a 2 year contract in our current crisis.
I recently went into a telkom store to stop the deal until I felt I needed it again. When I requested to stop from the 1 of July 2020 this consultant at cavendish told me that I have been put into a 24 month deal. I specifically told the person when I signed up not to make a mistake with this and yet this happened. The consultant told me that she can’t do anything and I need to go to the store I signed up for the deal.
I was mislead you into something and then told I will pay penalties for something that wasn’t even my fault.
I’m disgusted with what happened and now I’m hooked in something like this. And if my name or credit record gets run through the dirt I’m going to take this as far as I can. I cannot be held responsible for a mistake that isn’t even mine.
I will never enter into business with telkom ever again
