Misinformation customers - be careful

On the 30th of June I went to telkom woodlands mall to get myself a contract phone,I was helped by a guy named HOPE. I was told I will only pay R10 extra charge of taking the phone on the last day of the month which I didn't mind. I got my statement last week with an extra charge of R599, of course I went back (he wasn't there at that time) got there to be told " sorry he made a mistake ".he claims he told me, if you tell me I'm going to pay R599 for taking the phone on the last day of the month I surely would have waited for the next day. Judging from what his colleagues said, it's something he does jus to get customers to sign the contract. Is that how telkom works? I won't recommend telkom to anyone.
