Messed up cancellation, now legal
I have never come across a worse entity in my entire life (including the Church of Scientology).
I cancelled my Telkom ADSL service in February of 2017. I received a confirmation that my confirmation was received and I paid my final invoice less the deposit of R700 that I had paid upfront in 2014. I continued to be billed (R1600 per month for a 20mbs uncapped service) for the next 5 months, for a service at a property that I had already sold in ANOTHER PROVINCE. After visits to my local Telkom store in Fourways Crossing, every month, along with multiple long telephone calls, Telkom eventually decided to cancel my subscription, and I received confirmation that my invoices will be backdated to February 2017.
About a month ago I received a call from an attorney’s office regarding a Telkom account in excess of R6000 that had been handed over and now in the course of legal collection, which is affecting my CREDIT RATING. When I called Telkom I was told that my account was only backdated one month, instead of FIVE MONTHS of wrongful invoicing. So I opened a dispute (REFERENCE NUMBER ********** 3) and have not heard anything back since.
Until yesterday, when Telkom decided that instead of backdating my invoices to February 2017, they will now invoice me for services for January 2018 at R1600, for my residence in Durban which now belongs to someone else, and hasn’t been occupied by me in over a year.
Sort this out or I am going to sue Telkom for the damage they have wrongfully done to my credit profile. There is enough information contained within this message to help you figure out what needs to be done. I don’t want a phone call from a half ****d agent who barely made the 30% required pass mark for matric, I only want to hear from Telkom when this is done, or my attorney will be in contact.
