I took out a Telkom contract 40G LTE wireless contract and was told that the contract is R199 and was not told I will be paying R498 for the first as I would not have taken the contract out as I was not going to afford that much. When they tried to debit it bounced as I had only R200 as I was told my monthly bill is R199, I then called to confirm how my bill is double to what the contract amount is and the lady explained the pro-rata fees which was not was I was initially told when I took out the contract. I asked the lady I spoke to cancel the contract as I can't afford that money and as I was not told in the beginning. Today I received a statement with an amount of R1113.17 and I called and asked what these charges are and she explained the pro-rata R498 and the service fee of R206 for not being able to debit then an additional R199 per for subscription which I can't use until I make payment. So I asked her in simple terms firstly I asked to cancel the contract secondly how can you give me a loaf of bread and tell me I can't eat it until I pay it but I said I no longer want the bread. TELKOM IS A ******* AND I AM NOT GOING TO PAY FOR SERVICES I ASKED TO BE CANCELLED AS THEY WERE TRYING TO RIP ME OFF IN THE FIRST PLACE. I WILL ONLY PAY FOR THE 1ST MONTH I HAD SERVICE AND THE FEE FOR THE BOUNCED DEBIT AS I REQUESTED CANCELLATION IN THE FIRST MONTH.
