LTE UNCAPPED - SHOCKING APPALLING SERVICE

I app**** for LTE Uncapped at R799 in August 2016. During the telephone call with the consultant I was advised not to install the modem or put the sim into the modem as a technician will come and install it. I received the free modem and sim via courier in early September and waited to be contacted for a technician to come and install it which I thought was an auto process. About a month went by and I phoned telkom and asked when they are sending the technician to install. They confirmed that they will send somebody. So I waited again. Another month or two went past and still the technician had not arrived. I proceeded to phone telkom again and to my shock and horror the consultant on the phone said nobody is coming to install I must install it myself as it's plug and play. I was highly infuriated as this advice is in total contradiction to the two previous consultants advices wherein I had to wait for a technician to install the modem and in the meantime I have been without internet. I then installed the modem and sim beginning of December only to discover that the Internet is not working due to it being disconnected as result of non-payment from the 11 of September and now approximately R2500.00 in arrears, now the gloves are off! Not only did telkom lie to me about sending a technician to install the modem but they also charged me for Internet while the sim was still in a sealed package on my shelf. So the sim was not activated till Dec but I got charged from 11 Sep. I had no choice but to pay the arrears so I could get Internet. I complained about this and the consultant said he would send my account query to accounts department to for credit to be processed. Now I had Internet but had really bad signal and super slow and intermittent Internet. The consultant whom I spoke to when I app**** assured me that I will have good signal at my address, I had to reboot the modem router constantly as straight after a reboot I would have the best Internet data transfer. So now I started phoning telkom to complain about my slow intermittent internet. After numerous phone calls and bad service the telkom consultant suggested I install a LTE aerial.

They then sent a technician with an aerial and installed the aerial. This was another joke. The technician they sent had no tools and no stepladder and did a shoddy job installing. I tried to tell him not to worry I will install it as I can't have such shoddy workmanship. He said that he must install it as he needs to check signal. After installing I thought he would have some special equipment to check signal but no he whips out his iPhone which had no power so we first had to plug his iPhone onto charge before he could check signal. So eventually he checks signal and decided on a spot to install the aerial but had no ladder to install, as it is higher than he can reach. He then installs it and leaves and for the first time after a few months I have some sort of decent Internet. About a week or two goes past then I start having problems again with slow intermittent Internet. Then I started phoning faults again (racking up call costs). This was another nightmare. I have actually lost count of how many times I phoned. It always went the same way. I phone. They try to phone me after I said a gazillion times don't phone me just send a technician out, as there will be someone at home. But no they phone first then when I don't answer they send me a Sms about a half an hour later that the fault is sorted. After I told telkom don't phone me I work in a noisy environment and won't answer just send the technician. This game went on for about a month. I phone. They phone me. I don't answer. They then send a Sms the fault is fixed. Eventually at the end of December after God nows how many calls I made the consultant tells me that the line was damaged and the whole of Natal was having bad signal. I told the consultant that I want credit for the downtime. He said he was sending my account to accounts to get credit processed. Bearing in mind that I still have not received the credit for period September 2016 to December 2016 and this will now be the second credit I am waiting for to be processed. I then phoned in March this year and asked what was happening to my credit. I was told they still working on it.

I then told the consultant if they don't sort my account out I'm going to stop paying. So in May I stopped paying. Now if anyone knows what customer service means, one would think that if a customer stops paying that they will call to find out if there are any issues. Clearly the accounts department and faults departments are working on difference databasis as the one does not know what is happening with the other. They then proceeded to cut my LTE due to non-payment sometime in May. But still don't phone me. Now this is where it gets really insane. Not only does telkom cut my LTE but keep charging me while my LTE is cut. And still no phone call from telkom. So last week I started phoning them again as the family was putting pressure on me to get Internet as we were all without internet. I have spent the last two weeks phoning sending emails and still have not managed to sort out this pathetic service. So yesterday I sent an email that if my service is not sorted out by close of business yesterday I will be terminating my LTE and going somewhere else as this level of stupidty and pathetic service can not be tolerated anymore. Last nite my son came to me and said that I must not terminate as telkom is trying to help us on Facebook. So I will give it until today for telkom to give me my three credits. One for September to December. Two for downtime in December to March. And three from when they terminated my service recently. If not sorted by today I will not be paying the arrears they say I owe and will go to another service provider. All this can be verified by telkom very easily when and how much data my line used as well as the telephonic recordings. But the new thing is now they can't find the recordings of what was said and when it was said. How convenient.
