LTE sales not letting me cool off

I was cold called by someone representing Telkom to buy an LTE service including a modem from Telkom.

I was specifically informed that should I cool off I could cancel the deal.

I did cool off and was informed that I should return the modem to a Telkom outlet. I took it to the Kenilworth outlet where the staff refused (correctly it would appear) to accept the modem. I insisted they take it and left it at the store being fed up with getting the run around. Subsequently Telkom informed that I need to retrieve the modem from the store and that they would collect it. I have since informed them that it should be collected during December 2016, Feb 2017 and May 2017 without response. Now the e-mail address I used is full and my e-mails bounce back while I am being charged R699 per month.

It is near impossible to find the appropriate staff to deal with this through the helplines.

I write this in the hope that someone at Telkom will correct this, failing which I will have to go to consumer watchdogs (case number ********** 0)

Martin Slier
