LTE Nightmare

<p>The Telkom LTE website promises download speeds of up to 90mb/s and uploads up to 25mb/s, and delivery of the router in 3-5 days. I don't know how the law around this works, but this must surely be false advertising, because nothing could be further from the truth. Delivery took 3 weeks, hours of frustration, lost forms, standing in queues, helpline taking 35 minutes to be answered, application declined despite being a customer for over 10 years (forgot to invoice me the outstanding amount on the ADSL line that I cancelled, and thus I was in arrears) etc. . . Anyway, putting that aside, the great day finally arrived, rushed off to fetch the router, installed it and eagerly awaited the lightning speed internet connection, only to find that it makes a statue look fast - tested download speeds range from 1.47mb/s to 19mb/s at peak (averaging between 5 and 10mb/s)</p> <p> </p> <p>Never before in the history of human endeavour (to paraphrase Winston Churchill) has so much been promised and so little delivered. What a complete waste of time and money - R949pm for internet that makes my Vodacom 4G connection (averaging 40-50mb/s) look like a cheetah racing the Telkom turtle.</p> <p> </p> <p>Instead of using Usain Bolt in their adverts Telkom should seriously consider choosing one of the props from a S18 rugby team.</p> <p> </p> <p>Utterly and completely underwhelmed...</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
