LTE cancellation

I went to the Telkom Garden Route mall store on 26 June to apply for an uncapped ADSL contract. A consultant named Mikaila helped me.

Seeing that I had a LTE contract at the time, that were on 23 months and 25 days i.e. 5 days before expiry, I asked Mikaila what the procedure is to cancel the LTE contract and whether any notice is required.

Early during our discussion, she said that the contact will go over to a month-to-month contract whilst we await the requested ADSL installation, which I then don't have to give notice and should just come into the store when I want to cancel. She was a little distracted and vague at the time.

After we've completed formalities for the ADSL installation, I asked her around this again where she basically confirmed the same i.e. I should just come in and cancel, she said no notice was required after I again specifically asked around this.

The ADSL was installed on 26 July, so I went to the store yesterday, 27 July to have the LTE cancelled, just to be told that I need to give 30 days notice. A total contradiction to what I've been told.

Due to previous bad experiences with Telkom, I made a voice recording of my discussion with Mikaila, she was aware of it and acknowledged that she is being recorded. I can make this available on request.

I demand that the LTE contract is cancelled with immediate effect, without any penalty or notice period. We are all on a tight budget and cannot afford to pay for something I don't need, don't want, are no longer under contract and a duplication of services as I now have the ADSL contract and most importantly, acted according to your consultants advice. I am not at fault.

The case number for the cancellation: ********** 5

I will take this matter to higher authority if not resolved to my satisfaction by 4 August 2017.

And so a week has passed without any response.

What's your intention with this or should I escalate through other channels?
